A lot of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to voice their thoughts at a claim to emerge from Alasdair Gold on their striker Harry Kane.
According to the Spurs correspondent speaking on the Gold & Guest talk Tottenham podcast, there are noises coming from the 28-year-old’s camp suggesting he may be looking to sign a new contract with the north London club.
“There’s little bits and noises coming out from around his camp not to entirely rule out a new contract for him, which would be an incredible U-turn,” Gold said.
Do you think Kane will sign a new contract?
Yes
No
The striker has had his future with the Lilywhites questioned over the course of the last few months with him believed to be hoping for a move to Manchester City.
However, these Spurs fans have been left delighted at hearing the striker could potentially put pen to paper on a new deal to extend his stay with Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.
What exactly did these Spurs fans have to say?
“That’s literally the best news since the year 1882”
“I’m stuck with Spurs. Only fair Kane has to stay as well.”
“Not a real surprise to be honest. Was always going to be the case IF he stays. He’ll get a release clause that is considerably less than what we value him at now. Hopefully by then, Haaland moves to City and nobody else can afford or want him… Happy days.”
“Makes absolute sense. I’d love one more season of Kane, and I would have no problems with him leaving if targets aren’t hit. We’ve probably had an extra couple of seasons from him anyway based on his performances Vs. the club’s performances”
Fuel was added to the fire of Kane’s transfer saga last week as it appeared the striker had not returned to Tottenham for pre-season training and instead extended his summer holiday in Florida.
Despite the controversy surrounding his actions last week, it seems all would be forgiven if the England captain was to commit his future although many speculate a new deal would include a release clause.
