A lot of Tottenham Hotspur fans have vented their anger on Twitter at the latest claim to emerge regarding one of their players.
According to Eurosport, midfielder Harry Winks will be given another chance at reviving his Tottenham career this upcoming season under Nuno Espirito Santo.
Would you be happy to see Winks leave?
Yes
No
The 25-year-old had a difficult 2020/21 campaign in north London, which saw the central midfielder make just 15 appearances in the Premier League, where he went without scoring or assisting (via Transfermarkt).
It has been reported Spurs are looking to offload a number of players this summer, however, it appears Winks will not be one of those.
Spurs fans flocked to the tweet from The Spurs Express to share their thoughts on the claims made by Eurosport with many left furious.
What exactly did these Spurs fans have to say?
“Winks should be one of the first out the door for me as we might be able to get a decent fee”
“Winks is not a young player anymore he’s had time to prove himself and he’s just not good enough.”
“OH BROTHER PLEASE GOD NO”
“This is why we will never win something, giving a 9th chance for a useless love island participant to learn the basics of football”
“What a joke this better not be at the expense of getting a quality midfielder”
“Oh do one. Seriously you’re kidding. Me. I’m dreading this season.”
“This is the downfall of our club, our inability to get rid of deadwood”
The midfielder has been linked with a potential move away from Spurs in the recent past, with La Liga side Valencia once heavily mooted as a possible destination for the midfielder.
Going by the reaction of these Spurs fans, it seems apparent they have been left incredibly frustrated by the claim to emerge, with many feeling he has already had long enough to prove himself at Spurs.
