Some Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to the performance of Gabriel for the Gunners against the Tottenham Hotspur Under-23 side today.

Arsenal central defender Gabriel was in action for the Gunners’ Under-23 side against their Tottenham counterparts today.

The Brazilian suffered an injury during international duty with the Brazil Under-23 squad which disrupted his pre-season training with Mikel Arteta’s side.

The 23-year-old did not play for Brazil at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics due to the knee injury.

Gabriel recently returned to training, and the Brazilian started for the Arsenal Under-23 side against their Tottenham counterparts today.

As you can see from the tweets below, Arsenal fans are delighted to see Gabriel back in action, or be it for the Under-23 side.

Well, some of them anyway.

The Brazilian was the captain for the Arsenal Under-23 team today, and the youngster did well during the time he was on the pitch.

Gabriel was solid at the back and read the game well before being taken off after 45 minutes, which seemed to have been pre-planned.

Arsenal signed Ben White from Brighton and Hove Albion this summer, and Gabriel is likely to be the partner of the former Leeds United loanee on a regular basis when he is back to full match fitness.
