Out-of-contract Benjamin Afutu is expected to pen a new deal with Hearts of Oak, the club’s communications director, Opare Addo has disclosed.
The enterprising midfielder contract with the Phobians has expired and is yet to sign a new deal with the Ghanaian giants.
In an interview with Kumasi-based Nhyira FM, Opare Addo indicated the club is edging closer to extending Afutu’s stay at the club ahead of next season.
“On Afutu, we have reach a point where we are hoping he will agree and extend for the club so that we will continue the relationship.”
Despite his contract running out at the club, he been registered for the upcoming CAF Champions League campaign.
He played an instrumental role for the Phobians in their double winning season.
