Romelu Lukaku has flown to London to complete a medical to join Chelsea extending a tumultuous off-season for Inter Milan.
The Belgium international striker is expected to join the European champions for a transfer fee worth 115m euros.
The 28-year-old had been on Chelsea’s books from 2011 to 2014 but has excelled in recent years to become one of Europe’s hottest strikers.
Lukaku scored 24 league goals for Inter as they won the 2020-21 Serie A title.
Inter, who saw title-winning boss Antonie Conte exit earlier this off-season, has agreed in principle to a club-record deal to sell the striker.
Lukaku is expected to sign a five-year deal with the Blues, who had chased Erling Haaland previously but have switched their attention.
Inter previously rejected two bids from Chelsea, including the addition of Marcos Alonso.
But the Belgian reportedly informed Inter he wanted to leave and had “unfinished business” in the Premier League after previous spells with the Blues along with Everton and Manchester United.
