Jules Koundé’s future seems to be moving away from Sevilla as the days go by. The Frenchman was once again on the bench during Sevilla’s friendly against Roma on Saturday as negotiations with Chelsea continue.
The London club expressed their interest to Sevilla at the beginning of the week. Chelsea are determined to get the Sevilla centre-back, regardless of whether or not Kurt Zouma is part of the deal.
Several English media outlets insist that Chelsea have already convinced Koundé to join, with the parties agreeing personal terms on a contract that is a substantial improvement on the current deal he has at Sevilla. For that reason, it is expected that the English side will move in the coming hours to convince the LaLiga club into selling and sign the player.
Sevilla sporting director Monchi is aware of the possibility of the young defender leaving and has a plan in place to deal with the potential departure, according to AS.
Julen Lopetegui made five substitutes in Sevilla’s 0-0 draw with Roma this weekend but left Koundé on the bench.
