As the fleet rounded the seaward mark off Sydney Heads at the start of this year’s race to Hobart there was a steady seaway to contend with as most headed offshore to find the south going current.
SHK Scallywag 100 was first out of the Heads but was soon turning north while her crew wrestled with a wayward headsail that had broken from it deck tack fitting. Meantime, much as predicted, Christian Beck’s Law Connect looked comfortable, making short work of the growing swell. The Bow Caddy Media team got up close from the air to capture these images.
