Hannah Hollis to host Netball Australia’s Suncorp Super Netball season on Fox Sports in 2022

A familiar voice for league fans will become the new face of Australian netball when she hosts Fox Sports’ coverage of the Super Netball season next year.

Television presenter Hannah Hollis will be the new face of netball coverage on the small screen.

Fox Sports has revealed Hollis – who is a familiar face and voice to league fans – will host Netball Australia’s Suncorp Super Netball season in 2022.

The draw for the Super Netball season is set to be released next week.

The Darwin-born descendant of the Jawoyn people from the Northern Territory grew up in Canberra and like many Australian children, played netball in primary school and since then has been an avid spectator of the game.

“Like many Aussies, we all remember giving netball a go at school,” Hollis said.

“From memory, I wasn’t very good but it was still lots of fun.

“I’m keen to help kids get better and that is one of the things we want to deliver through our magazine shows with how-tos from those at the top of their game.”

Hollis will be part of a star-studded team of netball experts being announced next year.

“I’m thrilled to be hosting the coverage alongside some incredible experts who bring their invaluable perspective and experience to the table – and I’m proud to deliver authentic, fresh and innovative insights,” she said.

Technological advances will include overhead camera angles at some venues together with microphones at the net and on players and umpires.

“You are not going to miss a thing on Fox Netball,” Hollis said.

Earlier this year, Netball Australia, the Super Netball League Commission and Foxtel Group announced a new five-year broadcast and digital rights contract, which will see every Suncorp Super Netball game aired live and ad-break free during play.

The competition will return to Fox Sports after the landmark broadcast rights deal and will ensure the sport’s elite competition remains freely accessible to Australia’s massive netball fanbase, as netball is the country’s No. 1 female team participation sport.

Hollis joined the Fox Sports team in 2017, and since then has appeared on Fox League’s NRL game day coverage, League Life and The Late Show with Matty Johns – and will combine her rugby league and netball duties next year.

Fox Sports executive director Steve Crawley said Hollis was a superstar on and off TV.

“She’s a natural presenter and does her homework,” he said. “There’s no one better to launch the new home of netball on Fox Sports.”

Netball Australia will release the 2022 league fixtures next week with the sixth season of the Suncorp Super Netball league beginning on March 26 – the earliest start date since the inaugural 2017 season due to the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Next year is shaping up to be an enormous year on the calendar internationally, kicking off with the most experienced Diamonds player, Paige Hadley (pictured with Hollis above), representing Australia in the Quad Series in January.
