Bellator light heavyweight champion Vadim Nemkov made it look easy en route to a fourth-round submission over Julius Anglickas at Bellator 268.
Vadim Nemkov vowed to put on another stunning performance against Julius Anglickas at Bellator 268, and he delivered with flying colors.
Nemkov used his wrestling and speed to completely overwhelm Anglickas from the opening minutes of the fight. Anglickas had his moments early on, landing a big right hook in the first round that dropped Nemkov. But, that would be his only highlight in the fight.
Nemkov scored four brutal takedowns on Anglickas and followed it up with a series of brutal elbows and hooks. In the fourth round, Nemkov finished the fight with an incredible kimura to secure his spot in the Bellator Light Heavyweight Grand Prix finals.
Nemkov has now defended his title twice as he hopes to cap it off with a tournament win.
Vadim Nemkov will face Corey Anderson in the Bellator World Light Heavyweight Grand Prix finals
Nemkov came entered the Bellator Light Heavyweight Grand Prix semifinals as the favorite, after successfully defending his title against Phil Davis at Bellator 244. He had won eight fights in a row after earlier struggles in his career, including against UFC contender Jiri Prochazka while both were in Rizin.
Known for his hard-nosed striking, Anglickas got the title shot after Anthony Johnson withdrew from the Grand Prix due to an illness. Entering Bellator 268 as the fifth-ranked contender, Anglickas had won nine straight including dominant performances against Alex Polizzi and Jordan Young.
With the win, Nemkov will move on to the Bellator Light Heavyweight Grand Prix finals to face Corey Anderson in what should be a massive showdown.
