Major League Baseball decided Friday to officially move the 2021 All-Star Game and draft out of Atlanta, Georgia; an alternate location has yet to be chosen.

Major League Baseball announced on Friday morning that it will be postponing the season opening series between the New York Mets and the Washington Nationals, which was previously delayed due to multiple positive COVID-19 tests in the Nationals organization. The Mets will continue to workout in Washington D.C., before taking a bus to Philadelphia for their newly established Opening Day against the Phillies on Monday, according to Joel Sherman of the New York Post.
Luis Rojas told reporters on Friday that newly acquired starter Taijuan Walker will get the nod for the home opener next Thursday. Walker posted about his excitement on his Twitter account.
Rojas also updated Mets fans on the teams’ rotation plans for the upcoming series against Philadelphia beginning on Monday. Jacob deGrom will get the start on Monday, followed by Marcus Stroman on Tuesday and David Peterson on Wednesday.
Finally, Rojas also announced that injured starter Carlos Carrasco has successfully completed bullpen sessions, and threw 15 pitches to live batters recently.
The Mets updated their alternate site roster on Friday, placing Jesus Reyes, Dan Rizzie, Drew Jackson and David Thompson on the “Development List,” which functions like a taxi squad and does not count against the 28-player limit, according to Jacob Resnick of SNY.
