X-Golf Woodhaven now open for business; expects to be popular spot for parties, events | News

When ownership and management personnel of X-Golf Woodhaven went looking for a home for its business, they did their research for about a year.

Molly Reno, general manager, said the extensive research looked at many aspects of the business and various communities — what both have to offer, demographics, the number of golfers in the area and any businesses of its kind in the area.

After all of the information gathering was done, 19840 West Road in Woodhaven turned out to be the most favorable location.

Although a soft opening was held about two weeks ago, the grand opening was set for April 9.

It is the area’s newest advanced, high-tech indoor golf simulator concept providing its guests a unique golf simulator experience.

Whether a novice or avid golfer, family looking for safe activities or couples seeking an active date night, players alike can find entertainment, as well as serious practice to sharpen their game.

Reno said the state-of-the-art indoor golf simulators give players accuracy and realism through a combination of camera systems, infrared lasers, impact sensors and advanced gaming software.

Their kiosks offer visitors a golfing entertainment experience with virtual reality gaming, competitions, leagues, golf lessons, memberships, corporate outings, social events and more.

There are seven bay areas for activities, including a large private bay for private parties and events.

Reno said the facility will be a popular choice to host birthday parties.

“A grandpa just bought his granddaughter some lessons,” she said. “This is for everyone no matter what your skill level. You can be a novice player and work on your game or a serious player.”

Thus far, Reno said the business has been well received.

The management team said most everyone they have come in contact with has been excited about the opening.

“There is no place like this Downriver,” Reno said. “People have said things like, “You’re such a great addition,” and “I’m happy you’re Downriver.’”

The general manager said she didn’t initially know much about Woodhaven in particular, but knows that everyone at X-Golf Woodhaven has been impressed with the city and what it has to offer.

She said from time to time, city officials and even a police officer or two have stopped by to see how the progress is going.

Visitors already appear to appreciate the full bar and cafe-style restaurant.

It serves light snack foods, like chicken fingers and fries.

The business is now fully open and Reno said visitors can take part in the activities or “just come enjoy some great beer and casual food.”
