Men’s Golf Set to Open Fall Season September 20 at Lone Star Invitational

RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced on Monday that the men’s golf team will have four tournaments this fall season starting at the Lone Star Invitational, hosted by UTSA, from Sept. 20-21 at TPC San Antonio.
 
“We are very fortunate to have such a wonderful schedule,” UTRGV head coach Philip Tate said. “I know the guys are anticipating the opportunity and challenge. Our preparation will be diligent, and we will bring our fullest commitment to represent ourselves and UTRGV Athletics admirably.”
 
The Vaqueros will remain in-state for the next two tournaments as they will tee it up at the Trinity Forest Invitational, hosted by SMU, from Oct. 4-6 at Trinity Forest Golf Course and then will travel to compete at the Bentwater Intercollegiate, hosted by Texas State and Sam Houston, from Oct. 11-13 at Bentwater Country Club.
 
The Vaqueros will then close out the fall at the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate, hosted by New Mexico State, from Oct. 18-19 at the NMSU Golf Course.
 
The spring schedule will be announced at a later date.
