Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to keep their lead at the top of their Europa Conference League group when they travel to Vitesse on Thursday at 5:45pm (UK time).
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side currently sit top of Group G but only lead French team Rennes on goal difference, thanks to their 4-0 win over Mura last time out (having drawn with Rennes in their opening match). Vitesse, meanwhile, are in third with one win and one defeat from their opening two matches.

Oliver Skipp is Tottenham’s difference maker says Jamie Redknapp
Tottenham have had a strange old season in the Premier League so far, even at this early stage with eight games gone. The North London side were the early leaders of the table after winning their first three matches but that perfect start was ended by a 3-0 humiliation at the hands of Crystal Palace.
Another 3-0 defeat followed, this time against Chelsea, and Arsenal handed them another loss with a 3-1 win in the North London Derby. That string of defeats had some doubting Espirito Santo’s credentials and capabilities to lead Tottenham from what has been a bad period for the club over the past few years.
But they soon turned things around, starting with a 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa and followed it up by beating Newcastle United 3-2 at the weekend, putting a dampener on the Magpies’ celebrations following their recent takeover.
And, according to Jamie Redknapp, the inclusion of Oliver Skipp into the midfield has been the key change in Tottenham’s upturn in form.
“I think the manager took a lot stick against Arsenal, the balance in the midfield was wrong, tactically he got it wrong, I think bringing in Skipp has made a difference,” he told Sky Sports.
“What he does so well is he keeps it simple, he passes it well and he keeps the space where he can see if there’s a breakdown.
“You need that you need someone to see the other side of the game. Of course, you’ve got your match winners Ndombeles, Kanes, Sons but you need players who can keep us in order that’s what he’s done.
“He went to Norwich a boy on loan, did so well, now you can see he’s come back as a man, he looks the part in there.”
Skipp has started six of Tottenham’s eight Premier League games so far this season, and his presence at the base of their midfield has been pretty key. The north London side have won five of the six matches in which he has started, with the only anomaly that 3-0 defeat to Crystal Palace (though they were reduced to 10 men). The 21-year-old made substitute appearances against Chelsea and Arsenal, and it was his involvement in the second half at the Emirates that helped Tottenham steady the ship.
In the Premier League so far this season, Skipp has completed 90.52% of his 348 passes including 49 of 60 in the final third. Only Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg at Tottenham has completed more passes in the league this season, while only Harry Winks (91.3%) has better accuracy, though he has only attempted 23 passes. Skipp is also high for his defensive contribution, with his 19 tackles only bettered by Hojbjerg’s 27, proving to be a quietly impressive player.
