Winks has been linked with a move to Villa in the summer transfer window.
The Telegraph reported last month that Villa are interested in signing the England international midfielder from Tottenham.
Aston Villa transfer makes sense
Tottenham are reportedly open to selling Winks this summer, and with Villa interested in him, it is very likely that a transfer could happen.
Of course, the 25-year-old will have the final say on his future, but if he is not going to be used by new Spurs manager Nuno, then there is no point in the Englishman staying at the club and spending time on the substitutes’ bench.
The Tottenham no.8 made nine starts and six substitute appearances in the Premier League last season.
Winks scored one goal and gave one assist in eight Europa League appearances.
