A lot of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to vent their frustrations at the latest transfer claim to emerge regarding their club.
According to De Telegraaf journalist Valentijn Driessen (via Voetbal Primeur), Spurs are looking for an offering in the region of €25m (£21.5m) for Steven Bergwijn to leave the north London club this summer.
What should Spurs do with Bergwijn?
Keep
Sell
The Dutchman only joined Spurs in January 2020 in a deal with PSV Eindhoven believed to be worth in the region of £27m.
However, he has struggled to find his feet in the Premier League, despite scoring on his debut against Manchester City at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Spurs fans flocked to the tweet from The Spurs Web relaying the claim to emerge from the Netherlands with many showing their displeasure in what they had heard.
What exactly did these Spurs fans have to say?
“Bergwijn bangs at any other club, bet”
“He is a talent, why would they sell him! Is still young!”
“This will be a mistake.”
“Definitely not a good decision to sell. He’s young and has good potential”
In Bergwijn’s previous experience in the Eredivisie, the 23-year-old netted 29 times and provided 35 assists in his 112 appearances for PSV Eindhoven (via Transfermarkt).
Going by the reaction of these Spurs fans, it seems they would like to see Bergwijn stay in north London and show what he can do if he is given a consistent run in the side.
