The three players who could leave Manchester United this summer.
With the club again not challenging at the top of the Premier League table, many believe it’s time for a major overhaul of United’s playing staff.
Of course, the players the club in are vitally important as a team looks to improve, but equally important are the decisions made to sell/release certain players.
United are often criticised for having an inflated squad, with far too many players who should have been released in previous seasons.
Here are three players we believe could leave Old Trafford this summer…
Paul Pogba
Many believe Pogba’s United career could finally be up this summer, with the relationship between club and player seeming at an all-time low. The World Cup winner will be able to leave the club on a free, which does seem incredibly bad business from the Manchester club. There have been times, during his second spell where Pogba has been sensational on the pitch, but unfortunately for him and United those performances have been few and far between.
Edinson Cavani
Some United fans would be dissappointed to see Cavani leave, but it seems the writing may be on the wall. When fit he has perfromed well at United and scored important goals. Just like Pogba, his current deal is up in the summer having signed a contract extension in the summer of 2021. Many believe Cavani will make his way back to South America to finish his playing career there.
Jesse Lingard
In mid January it seemed Lingard would be playing football in a different shirt, come the 1st of February. But due to unforeseen circumstances, Lingard will now play for United for the rest of the campaign. However, getting regular minutes on the pitch has been his biggest issue in recent seasons. Having enjoyed a very successful campaign at West Ham United last seasons, many believe Lingard will push for more first team opportunities in the summer.
