Tottenham Hotspur have been in contact over a potential move for Manchester United’s Jesse Lingard, according to reports.
The 29-year-old has struggled for game time since the start of the 2020/21 campaign at Old Trafford.
A loan spell to West Ham United in the second half of last season seemed to reignite his career but he has failed to start a Premier League match since returning to his parent club.
Now with just six months left on the 32-time England international’s deal, it seems as though his 22-year association with United could be coming to an end.
According to football.london, Spurs have shown an interest in bringing the wide man to North London by reaching out to Lingard’s representatives.
It’s claimed that Tottenham made contact over a potential summer swoop but that they could consider making a move this month.
Antonio Conte will be keen to bolster his Spurs squad as he looks to secure a top-four finish after his appointment in November.
As it stands, Lingard, who has made 223 appearances for United, will be available on a free transfer in the summer so the Red Devils could be tempted to cash in on their academy graduate if they receive an offer.
