Senegal Beat Tunisia To Keep Qualification Hope For Women’s World Cup

Senegal secure spot in the play-offs 2023 Women’s World Cup after beating Tunisia in the penalty shootout.

The game that took place at the Mohamed V stadium in Casablanca ended in goalless draw after regular time. Senegal came winner as the Teranga Lionesses won 4 shots against 2 for Tunisia.

Finishing fith in the competition, Mame Moussa Cissé’s Ladies, will have to play the play-offs to qualify for the Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand in 2023.

Tunisia and Senegal failed to secure an automatic ticket to the FIFA Women World Cup as they exit the ongoing WAFCON in the quarte-finals.

The Teranga Lions of Senagal lost to Zambia on penalties 4-2 after 1-1 stalement after extra time. Their opponents of the day, Tunisia bowed 1-0 to South Africa in the same stage of the competiton.
