An insight into the squad likely to be at the disposal of Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick versus Crystal Palace has been provided on Saturday night.
Eagles test
A new era in Manchester is of course set to kick into full gear on Sunday afternoon.
This comes with United primed to play out the club’s first outing under the watch of recently-appointed interim manager Ralf Rangnick.
After embarking on an altogether positive spell of form since the dismissal of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, culminating in a 3-2 downing of Arsenal on Thursday night, Rangnick and co. are set to welcome Crystal Palace to Old Trafford, for a Premier League clash.
Owing to their victory over the Gunners, United will head into proceedings in a little over 12 hours’ time in the knowledge that a 2nd-straight win would, at least temporarily, guide them clear of Mikel Arteta’s men (and potentially Tottenham) into 5th.
CR7 in/Martial to miss out?
And, if the latest word stemming from the Reds’ camp late on Saturday night is anything to go by, then their hopes of making it four outings on the bounce without defeat appear to have been handed an altogether timely boost.
This comes on the back of an insight being provided into the panel of players set to be at the disposal of Ralf Rangnick versus Palace.
The info comes courtesy of the Manchester Evening News, who, crucially, have confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo was spotted alongside the rest of United’s stars in attendance at the Lowry Hotel.
Hitman Ronaldo had been viewed as a doubt to feature on Sunday, after appearing to pick up a fitness problem late in the club’s win over Arsenal.
Also spotted with Rangnick’s troops were Nemanja Matic and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, both of whom missed out on Thursday night.
However, conspicuous absentees came in the form of Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial.
It remains unclear whether the attacking pair could simply have organised to link up with the United squad at Old Trafford tomorrow, or perhaps been left out altogether in a first wielding of the axe on the part of the club’s new boss.
