COVID-19 still affecting the Liga MX
Pumas go on the road to perhaps their most challenging game of the season. After ten unbeaten games this season, the auriazulez will seek to maintain that streak alive when visiting the Nou Camp.
Both León and Pumas share some of the best defenses in the tournament. Lillini’s men lead the clash with more goals in favor of 20 goals than León’s 12. This match could go either way, and it is showing promise to be entertaining.
The last time these two sides faced-off in the Nou Camp Stadium was in the Clausura 2020, were already without any fans. León took the three points by winning 3-1. Pumas may have some difficulty playing in this stadium, but in their past five visits, the Universitarios have won two games, drawn once, and lost twice. Both teams haven’t been consistent in facing each other, but León has won half of those games, and Pumas have won four within the last ten games.
For Pumas to continue their unbeaten streak depends a lot on their Argentinian-Paraguayan duo. Both Juan Dinenno and Carlos Gonzalez register 11 out of the 20 goals scored. Emanuel Gigliotti and Ángel Mena pose a threat to León with seven goals together.
Both teams are seeking the win that could place them in that beloved first-place seed. With both teams wanting the success, they could well split points, but that would only mean that they would remain in the first place with Cruz Azul’s win.
This game surely will bring excitement and the first place in the general standings to play for. These two sides will battle it out to claim it. This clash is on the top three games of the weekend.
