Ligue 1 side RC Lens on Monday announced the decision to activate their option to buy Venezuelan shot-stopper Wuilker Fairnez from Millonarios.
Farinez joined RCL on loan in June, but is now tied to the club until June 2024 – the option is undisclosed but believed to be around the €2.5m mark.
Farinez had the following to say on the news:
“I am very happy and I want to thank everyone who has enabled me to sign for Lens. I think of my team-mates, the coaching staff, the board… Thanks fro the bottom of my heart! This is a sort of reward for the work I have done on a daily basis this season. I know it, things always come through work. I feel good here. When we say that Lens is a special club, those are not words, it is something you really feel.”
