Manchester City want Brendan Rodgers to succeed Pep Guardiola

Manchester City have identified Manchester United managerial target Brendan Rodgers as the ‘perfect successor’ to Pep Guardiola, according to Eurosport. It has been reported that defending Premier League champions City rate former Liverpool manager Rodgers highly and want him to take over at the Etihad Stadium when Guardiola eventually leaves.

However, City are not the only club from Manchester who admire Rodgers. Manchester United are keen on Rodgers as well. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is under pressure at the Red Devils, who are struggling to keep pace with the Premier League title race.

Rodgers is one of the best managers in the Premier League. The Leicester City boss almost led Liverpool to the Premier League title and won titles after titles at Celtic in Scotland. Leicester have gone close to finishing in the Premier League top four for the past two seasons.
