Leicester have joined the race to sign Ryan Christie this summer, according to a report.
The midfielder is expected to leave the club in this window with his contract due to run out in January in an unusual situation in Scottish football.
Nice and Monaco were heavily linked with a move for Christie over the weekend, but Brendan Rodgers could now jump to the front of the queue.
The Daily Mail report that the former Celtic boss wasn’t to take his old player down south and fit him into the Leicester side.
They could get him on the cheap this summer with just six months left meaning they could grab him for as little as £1million.
Ange Postecoglou might hope to be able to persuade him to stay at the club but it is looking more and more likely he’ll be leaving Celtic Park.
It’s a blow for the new boss who is yet to take training or make a summer signing with just weeks to go until his first game in charge.
They take on Midtjylland in the opening Champions League qualifier before facing Hearts in the first league game of the season.
Celtic have also handed Anthony Ralston an extension to his deal and he could be offered a chance to prove himself in pre-season.
