Speaking to Canal+ in the wake of Paris Saint-Germain’s 3-2 win over Bordeaux tonight, Kylian Mbappé addressed criticism aimed at his team’s style of play in recent months.

His words transcribed in RMC Sport, the Frenchman assured that Bordeaux’s late comeback did not pose a threat to PSG, although the two goals conceded could have been avoided.

“Did we waver until the end? We didn’t, today it wasn’t as hard as usual. We put ourselves in a comfortable position. They scored at the end, which is avoidable, but you can’t say we wavered. It was more so the case in previous weeks than here. We had high-level passages of play and showed our quality. Let’s say it’s not good enough yet but we’re trying to improve day by day. We hope it will get better and better.”

“I dont know if [the criticism on the style of play] is normal, but it should be respected. Everyone is allowed to give their opinion. People think we are playing badly.. I don’t think we’re playing very well right now but we’re managing to win. We’re going to keep working because the squad is hard-working and aware. But it’s not that alarming, we’re going to keep working.”
