James Maddison to Arsenal ‘on’ as Leicester eye Man Utd star

Arsenal seem to be fixated on the signing of Leicester City ace James Maddison before the summer transfer window closes and the pathway to sign the Englishman may just have become a whole lot clearer with Leicester eyeing up a big transfer of their own.

According to a report via TEAMtalk, Leicester are now looking at Manchester United’s Jesse Lingard who starred for West Ham last season while on-loan, helping the Hammers to European football with a number of goals and assists.

Lingard would be a direct replacement for the Foxes, should Arsenal meet James Maddison’s valuation, which stands at around £60million – a considerable outlay and a potential stumbling block for Mikel Arteta’s side who have already splashed the cash this summer.

As reported, a deal for James Maddison to Arsenal is a long way off and the transfer news that Leicester are at least looking at options will give hope that a deal can be struck before the deadline.
