BUENOS AIRES, Aug. 20 (Xinhua) — Matias Coccaro converted a late penalty as Huracan jumped to third in Argentina’s Primera Division standings on Saturday with a 1-0 home win over Newell’s Old Boys.

Coccaro broke the deadlock in the 71st minute when he held his nerves from the spot after Guillermo Benitez was brought down by Francisco Gonzalez.

With three wins and a draw from its past four league matches, Huracan has moved within two points of leader Atletico Tucuman with 27 points. Newell’s is 12th in the 28-team standings, seven points further back.

In the other match on Saturday, Luis Rodriguez scored in the 90th minute to hand Colon a 2-1 home victory over Tigre.

Rodriguez had given the hosts the lead with a 38th-minute strike before Mateo Retegui equalized in the 87th minute.
