How Chelsea can solve 7 potential injury issues for Saturday – Talk Chelsea

Chelsea are back in Premier League action this weekend and they make the long trip up North to Newcastle, who of course have just gone through their big takeover.

The Magpies have yet to win a game all season and sit second from bottom of the table, but as always, there is never an easy game in this league and Chelsea have some issues of their own to contend with.

It would be amazing if you guys subscribed for my project over at Si & Dan Talk Chelsea, where we are putting out so much Chelsea content including DAILY Newsletters, exclusive news, breaking news, Podcasts, interviews, inside information, and bringing in some massive guests!

The Blues potentially have 7 injuries to assess and look at before the game this weekend, and I am sure Thomas Tuchel will be sweating on a number of late fitness tests to see who he can field on Saturday and who he can’t.

Chelsea have issues with Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Cesar Azpilicueta, Andreas Christensen, Timo Werner, Romelu Lukaku, N’Golo Kante, and Christian Pulisic all missed the game in midweek against Southampton and are therefore naturally a doubt for the weekend.

I believe Tuchel could combat those missing by going for something like this..

(3-4-3): Mendy, Christensen, Silva, Rudiger: James, Jorginho, Kante, Chilwell: Hudson-Odoi, Mount, Havertz.

Kante was just rested as a precaution in the week, meaning he could have been saved for this one on Saturday, so that is why I’ve included him here.

Christensen had some dental surgery, meaning he should be fine by Saturday to play. If he isn’t, then of course no point in risking him with the fine form of Trevoh Chalobah and it will be good to see him keep his place anyway.

The rest I think pretty much picks itself and actually looks like quite a decent line up still. Great to have good strength in depth.
