Nigel Reo-Coker has said on Stadium Astro that Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is not at his best yet.
The pundit has said that he has not seen enough from Aubameyang to suggest that the Arsenal striker can carry the Gunners.
The former West Ham United and Aston Villa midfielder made the comments about the striker after the match against Aston Villa on Friday night.
The Gunners won the Premier League game 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium.
Aubameyang was among the goalscorers.
Reo-Coker said about Aubameyang on Stadium Astro: “I think he is in good form, but it is too early to judge that, and I think it would be very naive to do so so early on in the season.
“I think for me the way I look at Aubameyang is does he have what it really takes to carry Arsenal? I don’t think he does it consistently enough for me and I still just don’t see it.”
Getting back to his best
Reo-Coker made the aforementioned comments about Aubameyang while discussing if the striker is back to his best.
No, in our view, the Gabon international is not at his best.
But he is certainly on his way.
The Arsenal no. 14 struggled for goals last season, but he is now looking very sharp and is scoring goals.
The striker has scored seven goals and given two assists in nine matches for Arsenal, according to BBC Sport.
We know how good Aubameyang is.
We have seen the striker score goals after goals in seasons gone by.
Aubameyang has 68 goals in 122 Premier League matches so far in his career.
That is sensational.
In our opinion, Aubameyang can and has carried Arsenal.
