Round seven of the CSL 2018 season witnessed Guangzhou Evergrande concede two injury time goals, an ex-Premier League striker scoring four and Dalian Yifang still in search of their first win of the season.
Reigning champions, Guangzhou Evergrande were 2-0 up against Beijing Guoan with just two minutes to go. Hanwen Deng was then sent off for hauling down Cédric Bakambu in the penalty area. Renato Augusto scored the resulting penalty, before Bakambu equalised with a diving header in injury time.
Meanwhile Shanghai SIPG dropped their first points of the season, drawing 1-1 at home to Tianjin Teda. The result still keeps SIPG at the top of the table.
Ex-Watford striker Odion Ighalo scored four goals as his side Changchun Yatai beat Guizhou Zhicheng 5-2.
Elsewhere Jiangu Suning thrashed Shanghai Shenhua 5-1. It means Suning remain unbeaten since parting ways with coach Fabio Capello in March.
Dalian Yifang are still in search of their first win of the season. However, the CSL newcomers can take comfort from a hard fought 1-1 draw against last season’s third-placed, Tianjin Quanjian. Yannick Carrasco scored from the penalty spot for Dalian Yifang to cancel out Anthony Modeste’s own penalty.
Guangzhou R&F suffered a humbling home defeat to Shandong Luneng who moved to second in the Chinese Super League. The usually reliable Eran Zahavi missed a first half penalty, which would have given R&F a 2-0 advantage.
