Changchun Yatai have kept their transfer plans firmly under wraps, but a local sports news agency in China believes one of their deals has been done.
Per Xinjiang Sports’ official Weibo account, Dilyimit Tudi is set to play for Changchun Yatai during the 2020 season after an impressive spell on loan to Xinjiang Tianshan Leopard in 2019.
The 20-year-old has worked his way through the Guangzhou Evergrande youth system, getting his first taste of professional football during the 2019 China League One season.
In 23 league appearances, Tudi had a goal and three assists while playing as a defensive central midfielder.
Despite his tender age, Tudi secured regular minutes in Xinjiang and looks to have quite a bright future ahead of him.
If his reported move to Changchun Yatai goes ahead, it will be a step up for the young Xinjiang native, with Samvel Babayan’s side hoping to make the jump back up into the Chinese Super League.
Tudi could find himself once again earning regular minutes in the north-east of China, with Changchun needing to bolster a thin central midfield group that largely consists of Zhang Li and Li Guangwen, with very few options outside of the two.
His 21st birthday is less than three weeks away and playing for Changchun would give him a great opportunity to impress his parent club, with the deal likely to be on loan once again rather than a permanent one.
While the start of the 2020 season has been postponed, Changchun Yatai’s lack of official signing announcements is beginning to concern the fanbase, with a number of teams across the country already bringing in a number of new faces.
If recent reports are to be believed, however, Babayan will bring in at least two midfield players this transfer window in the form of Tudi and Beijing Guo’an’s Hu Yanqiang.
