BUENOS AIRES, June 9 (Xinhua) — Colombian forward Sebastian Villa was on target as Boca Juniors advanced to the Copa Argentina quarterfinals on Wednesday with a 1-0 victory away to Forro.

Villa put the visitors ahead with a 78th-minute strike after combining with Guillermo Fernandez. Boca then defended resolutely as they booked a place in the knockout phase.

Earlier, Brian Blando scored twice as Agropecuario overcame Racing Club in their round of last 16 duel. Tomas Chancalay was on the scoresheet for the hosts.

In Wednesday’s only other round-of-last-16 clash, Velez Sarsfield won 1-0 at home to Independiente Rivadavia.

The winners of the Copa Argentina will automatically qualify for next year’s Copa Libertadores, South America’s premier club competition.
