Arsenal shop Alexandre Lacazette for January move

Arsenal forward Alexandre Lacazette looks set to finally break ties with the club this season as the Gunners examine the possibility of brokering a January deal.

Having been recently linked with interest from Premier League outfits West Ham and Crystal Palace, as well as with a return home to Olympique Lyonnais, a new possibility emerges as Arsenal could well aim to get something out of the Frenchman’s departure rather than lose yet another valuable first-team asset on a free in the summer.

According to a report in Football365, the 30-year-0ld son of Lyon could be used as a makeweight in a proposed deal that would see Arsenal land Sevilla’s highly-rated Moroccan international striker Youssef En-Nesyri.

En-Nesyri is highly valued at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán under Julen Lopetegui, and Mundo Deportivo have previously claimed that the Gunners would have to stump up at least €45million to secure his services if an out-and-out bid was to be made.

Of course, a swap deal involving Lacazette would take a little bit off the top of Los Nervionenses’ valuation of the former Leganés and Málaga front man while the club look to maximize their ability to recruit smartly as the Edu-Arteta regime continues to find its feet.

En-Nesyri fits the bill for club transfer policy

Though he is one year removed from 23, Youssef En-Nesyri falls in line with the current recruitment policy being undertaken at Arsenal under Edu and Arteta.

The Gunners brought in six long-term options to the Emirates this summer, all of whom were no older than 23 as the ability for players to hit the ground running in the first-team while having plenty of scope to progress both as players and in their market value remained at the forefront of the recruitment profile.

En-Nesyri hit 18-goals last season for Sevilla in a breakout campaign in Andalusia, and his multi-faceted approach on the pitch and room for growth certainly seems to be tailor-made to what Arsenal aim to achieve as the club look to re-establish itself in the Premier League and across Europe.
