Arsenal have reportedly had their first transfer bid of the upcoming summer window rejected, according to a report via Yorkshire Live.

The midfield is an area that is expected to be strengthened this summer, with players such as Willian, Martin Odegaard and Dani Ceballos all expected to leave north London.

Now it’s reported that Arsenal have had a bid in the region of £17.2million rejected by Sheffield United for midfielder Sander Berge, a Norwegian international who signed for the Blades in January 2020 for £22m.

Berge is expected to be one of the first out of the door after Sheff Utd’s relegation confirmation and there appears to be no shortage of clubs keen on his signature, with AC Milan and Everton both named by the report.

The 23-year-old has so fad had a 2021 to forget, barely featuring for the Blades since December and is unlikely to play again for the remaining two Premier League games due to injury.
