Long-serving Plymouth Albion prop Dan Pullinger has stepped up to replace Mike Lewis as Albion’s new Head of Community.
In the final year of his Physical Education degree at Marjon University, 27-year-old Pullinger will combine his new role with his studies as he looks to expand the club’s community offering.
Speaking of the appointment, club MD Max Venables said “Dan was the standout candidate for the role, and I feel he has the ability to really drive our community engagement as part of the PROJECT150 initiative. We had a really positive meeting with Dwain Morgan and Daniel Hart from the Argyle Community team who certainly opened our eyes as to what we can and should be achieving and I feel Dan fits perfectly to give us the kickstart we need. Emerging from Covid, the community team had a tough task, and with Dan now at the helm, the club are expecting the big man to really drive things forward.”
With his ambition to get into teaching slightly amended, Pullinger added “Coaching and teaching have always been something I’ve had a keen interest in, so when the opportunity to become Head of Community here at Albion came up, it was one that I couldn’t refuse. Having played at the club for many years now, I believe there is potential for something great to happen here as a club and as a wider Albion community, the Argyle Community boys really opened my eyes to that. I know this role isn’t going to be easy, but it is one which will come with great satisfaction. There are big things to come, and I’m looking forward to getting out into the community and meeting the people around us.”
