Ruud, Schwartzman to meet in Argentina Open final

BUENOS AIRES, Feb. 12 (Xinhua) — Norwegian Casper Ruud reached the final of the Argentina Open on Saturday with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over local favorite Federico Delbonis.

The world No. 8 and tournament top seed won 67% of his service points and 46% of those on return to take the match in one hour and 39 minutes.

He will meet defending champion Diego Schwartzman in the final of the clay-court event on Sunday after the second seed beat Italian Lorenzo Sonego in the other semifinal 7-5, 3-6, 6-2.

Schwartzman and Ruud have met seven times on the ATP tour, with the 15th-ranked Argentine holding a 5-2 head-to-head advantage.

The Argentina Open, an ATP 250 event, is one of Latin America’s most prestigious tennis tournaments and serves as a precursor to the ATP 500 Rio Open.
