Three Premier League clubs have been credited with an interest in Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans, although it appears that only two are firmly in the race for the Belgian.
Both Manchester City and Liverpool hold strong interests in the midfielder, according to Fichajes, while Arsenal are also keen but are unlikely to succeed in luring him to North London.
The 24-year-old has established himself as one of the Premier League’s best midfielders since arriving permanently from Monaco in 2019 after a successful loan spell.
His form over the past two seasons hasn’t gone unnoticed it seems, and a number of clubs including Real Madrid and Barcelona are also believed to be monitoring the player.
Despite Arsenal having reportedly held talks with the player’s representatives at their training ground, Liverpool and City are believed to currently hold more interest and are therefore regarded as the most likely destination for the player.
The Belgium international’s current contract with the Foxes is due to expire in the summer of 2023, meaning he will enter the final year of his deal in the summer, and he is yet to agree an extension.
While he is so far undecided on his own future, his value will only decrease as he nears the expiry of his current deal and Leicester will be keen to either tie him down or cash in on a player that they paid £40 million for three years ago.
Tielemans has scored 23 goals and provided 22 assists in a Foxes shirt, and it was his stunning strike against Chelsea in last season’s FA Cup final that gave the club their first ever triumph in the competition.
