On Zidane’s departure from Real Madrid
“I think he did it with class and a lot of heart. Zidane had the impression that something had to be rebuilt and he thought perhaps he was not the right person to do it.”
On Kylian Mbappé
“[Kylian] Mbappé has always said he would like to play for Madrid and Madrid want to sign him. For Madrid, he would be a great signing. An attacking trio with [Karim] Benzema, Vinicius and Mbappé is a dream. Mbappé has been at the top for two or three years now. He is the next great with [Erling] Haaland and Vinicius. The great players have to play for Madrid.”
On Real Madrid
“I think Real Madrid will win La Liga and we know they will always compete in the Champions League. They’re on a good run with players on form, including [Thibaut] Courtois, [Luka] Modric, [Toni] Kroos, Benzema and Vinicius.”
