With Tottenham Hotspur enduring a horrible season last year, and their preparations marred by Harry Kane’s future, very few gave Nuno Espirito-Santo a chance.
However, the Portuguese boss has got the team off to a flying start with three consecutive 1-0 victories against Manchester City, Wolves, and Watford.
He has strengthened and plugged the holes of what was an extremely leaky and vulnerable defence last season.
Spurs have not dazzled or been easy on the eye, but they have displayed their capabilities of securing results.
And with Harry Kane back in the side and back on the same page, Spurs could really achieve great things this season.
They have also been linked with a sensational move for Chelsea defensive rock Antonio Rudiger, according to The Daily Express.
The German was heavily linked with the North Londoners last season, having fallen out of favour with then manager Frank Lampard.
But with Tuchel replacing the former midfielder and restoring the defender into the side, he has become one of the Blues’ most important players.
While the German looks back at home with the West Londoners and in the defence, he is in the final year of his contract and could be available on the cheap.
At the age of 28-years-old, he is well in his prime and he has proven he is one of the division’s best players.
However, with little sign of any new contract at this current moment, Rudiger could be available on the cheap in January, or on a free transfer next season,
Spurs have already bolstered their defence with Argentine defender Cristian Romero for £54m last season, but Rudiger could form a devastating partnership with the former Atalanta hard man.
