Motocross legend Tony Cairoli’s attempt to make history by claiming a record-equaling 10th MXGP World Championship title documented in new series, MX World: The KTM Diaries
With the 2021 FIM Motocross World Championship fast approaching, go behind the scenes with Cairoli and the rest of all-star Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team – including Jeffrey Herlings, Jorge Prado, Tom Vialle and Rene Hofer – as they chase down career-defining victories and battle their way through the high-stakes 2020 MXGP season.
As the world’s elite motocross riders prepare for the start of the 2021 MXGP season in May, fans are invited to step inside the world of the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing stars across a six-episode docuseries that centres around a tumultuous 2020 both on and off track. The behind-the-scenes docuseries is available to watch in full on Red Bull TV.
Nine-time world champion, Tony Cairoli, is already a legend of the sport but with a record-equaling 10th title within touching distance, the series takes an up-close-and-personal look at the Italian as he fights to see off the challenge from his young and hungry teammates, Herlings and Prado, and cement his place in the history books.
Dutchman Herlings and Spaniard Prado have their own personal challenges to overcome as they aim to take the title, with a life-changing crash proving to be a defining moment in Herlings’ season and the physical demands of racing at the pinnacle of the sport taking its toll on Prado. Viewers also get to see the season through the eyes of Frenchman Tom Vialle and Austria’s Rene Hofer – the two rising stars of the KTM Factory team who are jostling for MX2 glory and a right to compete in MXGP.
Tony Cairoli commented: “2020 was a wild season for us all and one of the most unique in my riding career. The experience will serve me well as I prepare for the start of the 2021 MXGP season and I hope the fans are as excited about the new series as I am. I cannot wait to get back out there and attempt to win a tenth World Championship.”
Jeffrey Herlings added: “The last year has been a rollercoaster. For me personally, after a pretty serious injury it’s given me the chance to show my resilience and confidence in myself. I’m excited to return to riding and mount a challenge to win another world title. The support of the fans has been incredible, and we can’t wait to hopefully ride into the 2021 season with them.”
The access-all-areas docuseries will debut ahead of the highly anticipated 2021 MXGP season, with the gate set to drop on Sunday 23rd May, in Oss, Netherlands.
MX World: The KTM Diaries is available for viewing on Red Bull TV from 10:00 AM CEST on Tuesday 30th March. Individual episodes will also be released weekly on the Red Bull Motorsport YouTube channel.
