Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns is no longer scheduled to compete at next month’s Money in the Bank Premium Live Event.
Reigns had been advertised for the July 2 event, and was rumored to face Riddle, who has been at odds with The Bloodline for weeks now.
Last month, Reigns was removed from the poster for the show after the event was moved from Allegiant Stadium to the much smaller MGM Grand Arena.
It’s believed that the move was done due to low ticket sales.
In an update from Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barrasso, Reigns is no longer scheduled to work Money in the Bank.
Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer later confirmed Barrasso’s report.
WWE has given no explanation for why Reigns has been pulled from the Premium Live Event.
Reigns signed a lucrative new contract earlier this year which will see him work far fewer matches than before.
It’s been suggested that WWE did not want Reigns to compete at any show other than a stadium event, which Money in the Bank 2022 no longer is.
Money in the Bank 2022 will take place on July 2, with the only match confirmed so far being the RAW Women’s Title match between Champion Bianca Belair and the Judgment Day’s Rhea Ripley.
