Matt Cardona is the new GCW World Heavyweight champion.
Cardona defeated Nick Gage at Game Changer Wrestling’s Homecoming event on Saturday (July 24).
The ending of the match saw Gage’s rival Ricky Shane Page come out to attack Gage, allowing Cardona to hit Gage with light tube and the Radio Silence to score the pinfall victory.

After the match, a mad crowd began pelting Cardona with bottles after his victory. This is Cardona’s first title with the promotion agger leaving WWE in April 2021.
Cardona and Gage began having issues on social media before Cardona jumped Gage at a GCW show in June dressed as a masked Jon Moxley.
Gage is set to face Chris Jericho on Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite.
