Backstage Report On Roman Reigns’ Next Opponents

Roman Reigns’ next challengers appear to have been revealed.

Since becoming Undisputed WWE Universal Champion by defeating Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania, Roman Reigns has yet to make a televised title defence.

Throughout his title reign, Reigns has defeated a wide range of Superstars, including The Fiend, Goldberg, Finn Balor, Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens.

As of writing, Reigns has held the Universal Championship for 628 days, which is the belt’s longest reign. The second longest title reign is 503 days, which was Brock Lesnar’s first time holding the belt.

Earlier this month, Reigns’ WWE career was put into doubt when a video emerged from a live event where he stated that he didn’t know whether he would be returning to the area again. Reports of Reigns being removed from several dates fuelled the speculation, before another report revealed that Reigns had signed a new deal which included ‘far less’ dates.

Following next weekend’s Hell In A Cell Premium-Live-Event, the next three events will be stadium shows. Money In The Bank is in June, SummerSlam is in July and Clash At The Castle is in September.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, WWE currently plan on having Reigns defend his Championship against Riddle at Money In The Bank in Las Vegas, Randy Orton at SummerSlam in Nashville and Drew McIntyre at Clash At The Castle in Wales. However it should be noted that these plans are ‘far from etched in stone’.

Reigns’ cousins, The Usos, defeated RKBro on Friday’s edition of SmackDown to become the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions, meaning The Bloodline now hold hold the only World Title and Tag Team Titles on the main roster.
