Splitboarding is booming, in spite of (or possibly thanks to) widespread resort closures and travel restrictions over the past year and a half, more people than ever before have taken to earning their turns on their local hillside, inbounds at closed resorts, and summiting peaks they’ve often wondered about from the roadside but never had the right gear to access.
Impressively enough, even with a global pandemic that effectively brought the snow industry grinding to an abrupt halt, Spark R&D were able to completely sell out of all stock, a testament to the quality and durability of their gear. At one point last year, Spark bindings were the snowboarding equivalent of Willy Wonka’s golden tickets, nigh on impossible to get your hands on, but worth their weight in gold. We filmed this review last year during the middle of the pandemic and decided to revisit it to celebrate Spark’s 15-year anniversary.
