Kimochi-Ii | The Instinct Diaries, Ep. 2

Hot off the heels of ReTrace, Nidecker’s Instinct Diaries continues with Kimochi-li, the second instalment of their new series. Featuring Japanese pow-ripper Shin Biyajima, episode two takes a look at his approach finding lines that embody “Kimochi-li” – those clean, flowing, wide-open lines that we all dream of but (let’s be honest) none of us can emulate like the man himself

From Nidecker:

For episode two of The Instinct Diaries we take a closer look at the life of Shin Biyajima, Nagano native and master of lines around his Honshu home. Slowing down last year meant having the time to fulfil a long-held dream and build his own ‘Tiny House’ – a version of friend and teammate Mike Basich’s Dream Chaser, adapted for the Japanese roads. From his base and from the road, Shin scored over and over again last winter, racking up lines in both quantity and quality. Immersed in nature, it gave him plenty of time to muse over the role snowboarding has in his life, how it affects him and in turn how he effects it.
