The last games of 2021 have been played in the Dutch league. Only the women came into action this weekend. ZV De Zaan proved to be the deserved winter champion in a mutual duel with number 2 UZSC.
ZV De Zaan strengthened its leading position on Friday evening by beating UZSC with 8-10. In Utrecht, the visitors from Zaandam ran out to 1-6 at the beginning of the second period. Sterre Bijkerk and Nerida Drewes then brought a little more tension into the match, but ZV De Zaan never let UZSC come closer than two goals. At the beginning of the fourth period, Bente Rogge and Takyiwa Sam even brought the difference to four, with which the game was over.
GZC Donk booked a 5-8 victory over ZVL-1886 on Saturday and widened the gap with the Leiden-team to four points. The team from Gouda was clearly the better one. After an even first phase, GZC Donk scored five times in a row to take a 2-7 lead. Only at the end of the third period did Renée de Kleer return the favor on behalf of ZVL-1886. In the fourth period, the home team continued to catch up, but it was not enough to really endanger GZC Donk.
Despite the fact that Het Ravijn had changed considerably due to the flu and some injuries, the team form Nijverdal was not surprised by PSV. In Eindhoven it was 6-9 for Het Ravijn. The team of Wicher Diallo jumped through this victory over ZVL-1886 and is heading into the new year from the fifth place. PSV is still waiting for the first points.
