Plans for a proposed water polo tournament featuring teams from across the Commonwealth has been pushed back.
The event was intended to take place between 25 November and 4 December.
However, following discussions with potential partners, it has been agreed ‘with a heavy heart’ that the tournament is not viable this year.
The tournament would include a water polo legacy programme and aim to increase the number of participants in the sport.
George Wood, Swim England sport development director, said: “We know the water polo community will be as disappointed, as we are, that it’s not taking place this year.
“This is a decision that was taken with a heavy heart by those who have worked hard in the planning process.
“Plans are still ongoing and conversations with partners are continuing to explore whether we can stage the event next year.”
