Teams from England and Great Britain are ‘looking forward to the challenge’ of the upcoming EU Nations Men’s tournament.
Twelve nations from across the world will return to Brno, Czech Republic, which recently hosted the U17 Boys’ and Girls’ edition of the event.
A senior men’s team from England and a U19 team from Great Britain will contest the three days of competition from 26-28 November., with the GBR U19 team facing the first match of the tournament against the host nation.
Also in attendance will be Lithuania, Egypt, South Africa, Wales, Austria, Ukraine, Slovakia, Belgium, and Switzerland.
England will make their competition debut against Lithuania on the evening of Friday 26 November.
The U19 side will have two opponents to face on day one in the form of the Czech Republic and Egypt.
‘Looking forward to the challenge’
Andy McGinty is head coach of the U19 side from Great Britain and said: “We are entering the senior EU Nations competition following our successful training camp in Hannover in October.
“As the only U19 team in the competition, we are expecting all of the games to be tough but we are looking forward to the challenge and the opportunity to develop.
“We are really grateful to the competition organisers for running the tournament and for inviting us to compete.
“The opportunity to gain international experience at this level was too good to turn down and will give the team valuable international experience as we continue our preparation for the U19 Men’s European Qualifiers in April.”
