The dates and venue have been confirmed for the Swim England Water Polo National Age Group Championships (U15s).
Sheffield’s Ponds Forge International Pool will host the event on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 December.
It will be the first time the National Age Group Championships have been held for the age group since November 2019 when Otter were crowned girls champions, while Sedgefield lifted the boys’ title.
Toby King, the chair of the Swim England Water Polo Leadership Group, said: “It’s been a long time coming but we’re thrilled to be in a position to announce the dates and venue for the National Age Group Championships.
“We have specifically selected the U15 age group as we’re conscious that they have very few options to play competitive water polo at a national level as they are too young to take part in other national events, such as the British Water Polo League.
“As it’s been two years since the last National Age Group Championships, this will be the first opportunity for the vast majority of players to take part in a national event – and I know they along with their coaches and clubs will be relishing that chance.
“We look forward to being able to stage this event and it promises to be an exciting weekend.”
Further event information, including the conditions and entry pack, will be published soon here.
Meanwhile, dates have also been confirmed for the U16s Water Polo Inter-Regional Championships 2021.
The boys’ event for players born 2006 and under will take place on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 November, while the girls’ competition is being held on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 December.
Both competitions will be held in Walsall.
