Argentina U20 women’s team launches fundraising campaign to play at World Championships

Less than two months are left until the FINA World Women’s Junior Championships, which will be held in Netanya (Israel) between 9th and 17th October.

One of the teams on the list of participants is Argentina. But, the girls from Argentina faced a problem, which can be a too high hurdle for the young water polo players. They don’t have the funds to travel to Israel. As they said, their national federation won’t pay the costs. So, they decided to launch a fundraising campaign.

Total Waterpolo received a letter from the Argentina U20 national team, which asked for our help in promoting the campaign.

The Argentines wrote us this:

“Hello! We are the players of the Argentina U-20 National Team. The World Championships that will be played in Israel in the first days of October are ahead of us.

We are currently without support or resources to participate in the tournament, so we decided to get them by ourselves.

It is no news that our regulators are NOT interested in financially and morally supporting young teams and, more than anything, women.

Added to this is a short notice with which they notify us of these decisions, leaving us with little time to overcome all these obstacles.

The occasions in which our families have been forced to bear the cost of most of our international junior and youth category tournaments became systematic. This situation persists, being that today we must pay an approximate amount of $ 3,000 per player to achieve our dream of playing this great tournament.

We decided not to lower our arms, and we look for solutions. Every grain of sand brings us closer to our goal, although we still have a long way to go to fulfill our dream. That is why we ask for the solidarity of each one. We invite all those who want and can collaborate to contact us or make a donation on our Paypal account”
