The win for Gabor Lako’s side was much needed, and lifts them to sixth place above Tatabanya, who have only won one game so far this campaign last weekend against Gyor.

Dunaujvaros stay unbeaten with a heathy victory over Keruleti yesterday. As usual, it was Dunaujvaros’ two Hungarian medal winners from Tokyo, Dorottya Szilagyi (8) and Greta Gurisatti (5) with the lion’s share of the goals.

Hanna Koncz struck four, and Nadin Koltay grabbed a brace, but Keruleti could hardly lay a glove on DFVE – who are now third on goal difference.

Szentes: R. Aranyi, V. Varga 1, A. Hevesi, K. Macsai, V. Dankina, L. Horvath, N. de Vries, I. Mihaly-Kadar, V. Bonca 1, A. Tyukasz 1, R. Kover-Kis 2, F. Toth, J. Forgo 1, J. Futsi Molnar

Ferencvaros are up to second in the league with a dominant away performance over Szentes. Anna Illes was in good goal scoring with four, while her international team-mate, Vanda Valyi secured three goals.

It was an important win for the side from Budapest to build some momentum, as they face stiff opposition next weekend against local rivals BVSC. Szentes, on the other hand, despite a strong start, have now lost two on the bounce. Mark Matajsz’s face Dunaujvaros next.

Four goals apiece from Tekla Aubeli and Dora Abel-Antal ensured UVSE defeated Eger and remain top of the OB I on goal difference. There were also hat-tricks for Hungarian internationals, Rita Keszthelyi and Natasa Rybanska.

Eger’s Dora Czigany was outstanding in the game, converting on five occasions , but it was not enough to give her side their first points of the season. Peter Biros will be working hard in the pool this week to ensure his side take maximum points next weekend as they travel to Tatabanya.
